Massive Paleo Breakfast and Pumpkin Beer Tasting

On Saturday I started my day with a Paleo breakfast using this Birch Benders mix I recently picked up from Whole Foods Market.
I posted the recipe to this massive masterpiece on Instagram, you can find me there @ahealthier_fitterme.  I believe it ended up being about 64 grams of protein but, so, so worth it after a sweaty HIIT session.

After my huge breakfast, I rushed to get ready in order to make it in time for farmers market shopping and run other Saturday errands with Joseph.  We stopped for iced coffee at the new Caribou Coffee location in Colorado Springs.  We both enjoyed a large iced coffee with almond milk.  It provided the perfect amount of energy to tackle our errands.

We also ended up picking two large pumpkins from the Farmers Market.  On our way home we started a conversation about how much we regretted not attending the Venetucci Pumpkin Patch last weekend.  Joseph was told that they had delicious pumpkin beer and fairly-priced pumpkins.  I immediately thought of the brilliant idea of having a pumpkin beer tasting at home.  Naturally, Joseph agreed, so we headed to our local liquor store to find some pumpkin beer.
We asked one of their employees for the top three pumpkin beers they offered and he suggested the Venetucci Pumpkin Ale, New Belgium Pumpkin and the Saranac Pumpkin Ale.  These are all Colorado made beers.  We trusted his opinion and headed home for some pumpkin beer tasting.
(I do not know what happened to my photo, it somehow got deleted)
We both agreed that the best out of the three was the New Belgium Pumpkin.  However, I was expecting these to be on the sweeter side and they were not.  I am not a beer drinker but, when I have beer it is usually a fruity sweet kind.  They had other selections at the store, so I think we are going to go back and for a sweeter pumpkin beer version.
This was a good at home casual "Fall" inspired date day idea.  We had a great time!
A few hours later we continued our date night with a lovely dinner at the Briarhurst Manor in Manitou Springs.
This post is getting a little long, so more about our dinner on Wednesday!

How was your weekend?  Are you loving all pumpkin things and farmers markets?  Let me know below!
