I know that lately I have been over sharing indulgent eating and drinking. However, health is number one in my life. I believe that living a healthier lifestyle 90% of the time is what works for me. This allows me to treat my self once a week and take care of my health at the same time.
Moderation when it comes to indulgent things is key. I do not believe in depriving my self of holidays, pizza and wine. When I feel deprived, I tend to binge on the foods I eliminate from my diet.
I wanted to share what a typical week of dinners looks like for us. I tend to share my breakfast and lunch on Instagram a lot, I figured I would share my dinners on here every two weeks or so. We tend to eat a lean protein with a complex carb and veggies, lots of veggies on most week nights.
Here's how last week looked for us...
Monday: Olive oil massaged kale, roasted spaghetti squash and grilled chicken.
Tuesday: Trader Joe's Chicken Jalapenos sausages, quinoa and steam veggies.
Wednesday: Olive oil massaged kale, liquid aminos sauteed cabbage topped with black bean pasta.
Thursday: Ground turkey Taco Salads...
Friday: Quiche made with leftovers.
Saturday: We went to a Halloween party and had an early dinner at MOD Pizza.
Sunday: Was not feeling so hot after our fun Saturday... Made chicken veggie soup with a side of salty pretzels.
As you can see, we focus on eating whole foods throughout the week, with a bit of fun foods on Saturdays.
Remember; living a healthy lifestyle is not about deprivation, it is about upgrading your lifestyle.
