4th of July Plans...

I am so glad you guys enjoyed my Fitbloggin15 Experience post.  I really had a lot of fun at the conference and would highly recommend it to anyone who has never attended a blogger conference.

So, this morning I woke up in the mood for a run.  This rarely happens as I am not a runner, in fact I have gone as far as stating that I absolutely hate running.   I went to bed last night with the mentality that I wanted to get up early today, get my workout done and out of the way so that I can focus on house cleaning and some much needed grocery shopping.

After my run I did a bit of strength training focusing on back work.  I did some pull downs, pull ups, back extensions and row work.  After my mild back routine, I took my dog Angel for our daily morning walk.  You know it is time to switch the walk route when your dog stops and wants to turn around before you get to the final destination...  Such a brat!!

Anyway, what are your plans for the 4th of July?  Joseph is sadly working Saturday but, we were invited to a BBQ on Friday, so we will be celebrating then.  We were encouraged to bring a side dish and beer or wine of our choice.

Since the BBQ is going to be appetizers only, I was thinking of making My Mexican Couscous Salad or my Olive Salad.

Olive Salad with some crusty bread sounds really good... hmmm

You can click on the photos to get the recipes on these.  I love grain or vegetables salads, they are so easy to make and are always crowd favorites...

I was also thinking of giving this California Avocados guacamole recipe a try...  We were given a bag of Hass avocados at the conference and I have been dying to make some guacamole with them.  Who does not love chips and guac?
We will see what I end up making...

What are your plans for Independence Day weekend?  Are you hosting or attending a party?

I think our plans this weekend are low-key. BBQ with the family and relax.

    1. I think most of us focus on getting summer ready but, forget about health and fitness once summer gets here... I tend to do good with fitness cause it is my job however, with all the get-togethers we attend in the summer and all the wine drinking health gets affected a bit... I think it is settled, I will be making the couscous salad.. Thanks for stopping by ;o)
