New Shoes: Reebok ZQuick TR 3.0

Some experts say that cross training shoes should be replaced at least once a year.  I have to admit that I have not replaced my cross trainers in over two years!  My birthday was at the beginning of the month, and while I did not expect anything, my hubby did buy me a new pair of shoes.  What a sweetheart!

On March 5th, I woke up to a lovely pair of pink and white NikeFree 5.0's.  A year ago, I would have jumped up and down for an upgraded version of my favorite cross trainers.  I was so touched of course by this lovely gesture, however, I had my eye on a different shoe.  After kindly explaining this to Joseph, we returned the Nike's and headed to the Reebok website for some shoe shopping!

I love my old NikeFree 5.0 pair, and have been using those to support my HIIT training.  When I purchased the NikeFree 5.0 (two years ago), I was smitten by the look of them rather than customer reviews and product description.  Still, I think these are both good looking and truly a great HIIT shoe.

After doing a little research into the Reebok line, and since Reebok has been everywhere this year, spartan race sponsor, crossfit games etc I was sold after reading reviews on the Reebok ZQuick TR 3.0.  There were so many deals on their site as well!  Birthday or not,  I could not pass up the price on these.

Meet my new babies Reebok ZQuick TR 3.0.

I know what you are thinking...  NEON GREEN!?!  Honestly, I am so over the pinks and Tiffany blue colors these days.  Besides, I feel like the neon green gives off a "bad ass" vibe.  lol

Shipping was free and super-duper fast. I also found a coupon online for 20% off, so I ended up paying $65.00 for these babies.  What a deal, right!
FYI... I find cross training shoes to be the most versatile pair of sports shoe in the market.  They are so comfortable because of their well thought out cushion padding inside. The bottoms are wide and stable enough to provide the lateral support and stability needed for most HIIT activities.  I have an issue with my feet turning inward when I walk, but the wide-base support of the cross training shoes helps support this bad habit.

At first, like with any other shoe I have owned, I had to brake them in a bit.  I recommend wearing higher than ankle size socks while doing sprints on a treadmill because the shoes tend to lay a bit higher than the Nike Free's.  Other than that, these shoes are a fantastic addition for the type of training I do.
Our anniversary is coming up in April and I am in need of a new heart rate monitor watchMy Polar FT40 sadly died on me after four years of awesomeness :-(

R.I.P. Polar, you were a great HRM!
We'll see what April brings ;-)

Are you a Nike or a Rebook fan? What's your favorite workout shoe?

  3. Yes, super badass! My favorite are Nike but I was turned towards Sketchers lately, I feel they are lighter and at the same time fashionable without having the brand labels all over it. Something that I often dislike about Nike or Reebok, sometimes there's no design only the brand! But these ones are cool.

  5. I love the fun bright color! I've been thinking about getting some new sneakers soon. Mine have just about had it. I'm not usually too loyal to one brand, as long as it's comfortable... =)

  7. I have a serious shoe addiction. I remember my first year teaching a kid told me that he and his friends placed bets on which day I would wear a shoe twice. I can't help it! Who doesn't love shoes?

  8. I also have a very serious shoe addiction. I really like Reeboks, too. As a matter of fact, I just wrote up a guide on the best walking shoes for men, and I made sure to put those awesome Reebok Zigtechs on them. I own these myself and I can't part with them anymore, because they make me feel like I am walking on air!

  9. Simply wish to say your article is as astounding. These are pretty shoes but they are nowhere near as comfy as the reebok herpower shoe. I ordered both off amazon and like the look of these better but the comfort of those better. Step class, body combat, and body attack is what I use these for.

  10. I think Reebok is on a roll this year! It is a good thing though to have more options (reasonably priced, too) to match up against Adidas and Nike!
