Grocery Haul: Trader Joe's, Sprouts & WholeFoods

When grocery shopping, I usually go to five different places (Sprouts, Whole Foods, Cost-Co, Sams Club, and Trader Joe's).  I start out by making a grocery list throughout the week, which includes searching for coupons, both online and mail.  FYI, I also tend to go to Costco for most of our protein because of the low prices .
On this particular shopping trip, I was unable to find coupons for any of the items I needed.
I am proud to say that I managed to stay below $100 for my grocery total!  On this particular week, we did not need any high price items, such as meat, dog food, or toiletries.

Our first stop was at Trader Joe's in Colorado Springs.  I love arriving to the trendy store early in order to skip the crowds that form on Sunday mornings.  This is where I do most of my grocery shopping because their prices are just unbeatable.

Trader Joe's Haul:
Prepackaged Items
 Smart Dogs (Tofu Hot dogs)
Pizza Burgers (vegetarian)
Puffins Peanut Butter
Sprouted Wheat Bread
Lentil Soup

It is spring break for my son, and like most 13 year-old's he eats every 5 minutes.  I picked up some unusual prepacked items for him to enjoy during the week.
Fruits, Veggies & Complex Carbohydrates:
Brussels Sprouts
Romain Lettuce
Pineapple Slices
Sweet Potatoes
Multi-Color Carrots
Frozen Strawberries
My TJ's grocery total: $62.04
After Trader Joe's, we headed over to Sprouts Farmers Market.  This is where I get most of my super food bulk items.   Sprouts also has a good selection of organic meats, fruits, and vegetables at a great price. On this trip, I was in need of some oats and chia seeds for overnight oats this week.  Rolled oats were on sale for .99 cents a pound, and chia seeds were on sale for $4.99 a pound.  I bought about two pounds of oats and a third of a pound of chia seeds.
Sprouts Farmer's Market Haul:
Rolled Oats
Roasted Peas (hubby's snack for the week)
Chia Seeds

My Sprouts Total: $10.74

After Sprouts we headed to WholeFoods, where I go for some small essentials.  I love their organic stevia extract and coconut oil.  I find these items to be priced well for what they are.

WholeFoods Haul:
Organic Stevia Extract
Organic Coconut Oil

WholeFoods Total: $12.99

As you can see, living a healthier lifestyle can be affordable, especially if you shop around for deals!  I was under my weekly budget because we did not need any protein related items this time around.  I commit to the items on my list and stay away from browsing around most of the time.

Where do you grocery shop?  Any tips for saving money on healthy items?
