Christmas 2014: Gift Ideas for the Health & Fitness Lover + GIVEAWAY

One of the most difficult and stressful things to me during Christmas time is to find the perfect gift for the people I love.  I have gotten better through out the years however, when shopping time comes around, I have to admit I struggle with what to get them.  I tend to always go the useful route, I want the people I love to really enjoy and use what I gift to them.

When health and fitness was not part of my life I struggled with what gift to get for those people in my life who were fitness and health enthusiast.  I compiled a few of my favorite health and fitness items, to help anyone who is in need of gift ideas for either yourself (if you are reading this I know you are a health and fitness lover too;)) or the healthy athlete in our life.

For the Fitness lover...

Asics Gel Cumulus 16 -  For the runner in your life these are great.  These running shoes retail for $115.00.  They are my favorite running and walking shoe.  It takes a bit of time to break them in, but they are wonderful shoes once you do.

Nike Free 5.0 14'- Fantastic cross trainers shoes!  These were my go-to shoe when I was on that Insanity kick.  Nike Free 5.0 are very light weight and great for HIIT workouts, sprinting, jumping I just love them.  These retail for $100.00.

Polar USA FT60 in white -  I get so many questions about this heart rate monitor every time I wear it.  It is great!  This is the only HRM I use.  I have had it for three years and it is still going strong.  I bought mine from Amazon for a fraction of the price.  On Amazon it retails for $111.00.

Paper Plum Design Fitness Planner -  OK!  I am a huge fan of planners.  I love making lists and organizing my day, especially when it comes to fitness.  I love this PPD fitness planner, their line is  comparable to the Erin Condren life planners.  They offer more than fitness planners, which you can personalize and choose the design for.  These retail for only $35.00.

Fabletics- This is a fitness boutique subscription service.  It is my favorite fitness clothing line at the moment.  I am in-love with their stuff,  super cute and really good quality.  Whether they're into yoga, running, crossfit, you will find something cute for the fitness lover in your life to rock next time they're at the gym.  Prices start at $49.95 for the monthly subscription although, they also offer individual pieces and they seem to always have a sale going on.  Free shipping is available once you subscribe to their services.

For the Healthy Nut...
Get Skinny Again!  by Sarah Dussault - This is a great buy for the person in your life who's curious about fitness and finding their way back to health.  It contains workouts, fitness tips, a nutrition guide, recipes and more.  This book would be an ideal gift for a youngster athlete graduating from high school or college, a new mom, or just someone who's starting on their health and fitness journey.  I have reviewed this book if you want to see that post, click HERE.

The Juicing Bible by Pat Crocker - This book was my savior and remains a holly-grail when it comes to juicing.  It is the perfect juicing book for a newbie.  It goes over food combinations, benefits of herbs and veggies.  I just love this book and would highly recommend it to anyone curious about the juicing world.

Crazy Sexy Diet by Kris Carr -  Oh! I just love Kris Carr and her story.  She wrote this book after being diagnose with "sexy cancer" at the age of 32.  Kris switched to a plant based/vegan diet.  This is a great book for someone who is experimenting with vegan-ism or simply needs a reboot with their health.  She offers a 21 day "detox" diet to help you eliminate animal products from your diet.  Great book!

These books retail from $15-$20.

 If you are feeling spendy...
OmniBlend V - Now, I know that the Vitamix is a hot item when it comes to high speed blenders, I understand the craze, I wanted one too...  However, the OmniBlend V retails for half the price and to me it is an excellent high speed blender.  We have had this blender for over 3 years and it has been by far, the best kitchen tool investment EVER!  It also comes with a 7 year warranty, a recipe book and stevia powder.  I love this blender and would highly recommend it to anyone.

The OmniBlend V retails for around $270.00.

Well, there you have it!  These are my 2014 gift recommendations.
I hope you found this helpful!

  5. I need some new workout gear--I wouldn't hate finding some new stuff under the tree! :) (And BTW, $500 for a blender?!?! Please tell me that the stuff it makes causes you to instantly lose 20 pounds. I'm SUCH a cheapskate that I cannot imagine paying that much for a blender.)

  11. OMG I really want a proper juicer/blending machine thing. Have done for a long time. There's one that I've found that literally can make everything from soup to icecream at the touch of a button. But it's close to £1000 so a bit out of my budget at the moment!
