September 2014 Healthy Favorites!

Happy Monday!  Can you believe Halloween is only a few weeks away???  It is crazy how fast time has passed.  Anyway, today I wanted to share what products I loved in the month of September.  I am sure a lot of you do this too, we tend to have a "go-to" breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner that we like to rotate in throughout the week.  It saves us time and we know exactly what we are putting into our body.

If you follow me on Instagram, you already know that I have been  loving protein pancakes and overnight oats for breakfast.  I literally had these all month long and I think they are slowly rolling over into October as well.;o)

Lunch...  I had a different variation of Frittatas for lunch everyday in the month of September.  I used veggies I got from my local Farmer's Market.  I swear I can not get enough of these things.  LOVE THEM!  I love paring my frittatas with a side salad and brown rice toast.
For my morning snacks in the month of September I had a lot of grapefruit.  Grapefruits are great for a pre-workout meal.  They are low in the glycemic index and it is said to aid with speeding up your metabolism and fat burn.  I love sprinkling a bit of Truvia over top!  Delish.
Here are some other products I loved in the month of September...
I have been loving tea lately, not so much in the mood for coffee these days.  My favorites last month were the Cinnamon Apple Spice by CelestialDouble Green Matcha Tea by The Republic of Tea and Coconut Chai Green Tea by Zhena's Gipsy Tea.  I love adding a bit of warm almond milk and stevia to my tea.  So good!

Now, I don't have these all the time, but if I am out and about and need a bit of a pick me up in the afternoon I have been reaching for ThinkThin bars in brownie crunch.  It is one of the best flavors I have tried from their brand.  It contains twenty grams of whey protein, naturally sweetened and so, so, good.

I recently found the Somersaults Sunflower seeds and Toasted Grain snacks while at the WholeFoods checkout aisle.  These have been the perfect snack whenever I am on the go and in the mood for something savory.

OK.. This is an oldie but goodie...  ArcticZero!  Whenever I have cravings for ice cream I reach for ArcticZero.  They were kind enough to send me all of their flavors including their ice cream bars and I love them!
My favorite way to eat them is by placing the pint in the microwave for 20 seconds before digging in, I find it gets creamier that way.  I love adding chocolate chips, almonds and a bit of dry fruit on top.  My favorite flavors are: strawberry, vanilla maple, orange cream, coconut, salted caramel and chocolate covered vanilla ice cream bars.

You can find ArcticZero in the ice cream section at Walmart, Safeway, WholeFoods, Sprouts, FredMeyer and online.   Have you tried Arctic Zero?

Dinner...
I was recently introduced to red lentil pasta.  I have mentioned her and this pasta on the blog before, but, Megan Roosevelt (Healthy Grocery Girl) mentioned two of the products above in her videos and I am now a fan.  I have been trying to incorporate more plant based meals into our diet.  Tolerant Pasta and Modern Table are really tasty and have served as a complete meal when served in a salad or mixed in with a bit of goat cheese and roasted veggies.

I have also been reaching for Beyond Meat Chicken-Free Strips as a protein replacement for dinners.  Again, I do not have them every night, it is still a processed food, but I do enjoy them in moderation.  Have you tried these?

Foam rolling and Zim's Max Freeze Spray...
Foam rolling is an essential part of my workout routine these days.  I foam roll pre and post workout.  It helps release tension in the body, which helps with relieving soreness and relaxation of muscle.  It is important to hydrate right after it, so I drink tons of water after foam rolling.

My entire family has been loving Zim's Max Freeze at night.  This stuff is amazing, it contains only natural ingredients and it is effective.  See my review on Zim's Max Freeze, here.

This is it guys, these were my favorite products for the month of September.
Have your tried any of these?  What were your favorite products in September?
