Banana Almond Green Juice/Smoothie

I wanted to thank you for all of your sweet emails and messages regarding my last post.  It was nice to get it off of my chest.  I have been contemplating sharing my story on here for a very long time and I am so glad I finally did.  You guys are the best!

Anywhosers... I wanted to share what I have been having as an afternoon snack lately.  I feel it is the perfect treat to have when those 2 o'clock or afternoon sugar cravings attack.  This is what I humbly call: a green "juice/smoothie".  I make it using my blender.  So refreshing, sweet and delish!

It is so hard to make a green juice look presentable in pictures but, I assure you it is delicious.

Banana Almond Green Smoothie

I used:
a ripe banana ( or in my case, overly ripe)
1 cup of kale
1-2 stalks of celery (diced)
1/3 of a large cucumber (diced)
1 tbsp. of almond butter
1 cup of unsweetened almond milk
1/8 tsp. of stevia extract
1 cup of ice

I also used (Optional:)
1 scoop of vanilla brown rice protein powder
1 scoop of chlorella or spirulina

Directions:
You know how this goes!  Dice your veggies and add them and the rest of your ingredients into a blender.  Blend until you reach a consistency you like or until well blended.  

Pour and enjoy!
This is a very simple recipe.  I thought I would share it because well, I love it, and also because I know, not everyone owns a juicer.  Smoothies are a great way to incorporate liquefied veggies into your diet without the use of a juicer.

    1. Nope you are not the only one Rebecca... I actually only eat celery in soups, smoothies or juices... I am not a big fan of it to be honest ;o)
