Back to Basics: #Chobani Banana Protein Shake

Hi!  I hope you are having a good day! I wanted to share a lovely little treat I have been enjoying lately for our morning meal, post-workout meal or as a protein filled snack.  This smoothie took me back to when I first started on this journey to becoming healthier.  At the time, I did not have protein powder accessible to me and had very little knowledge regarding which protein powder to use and little information as far as how much protein I should consume, etc.

Something I was constantly checking for at the time were: nutritional labels.  I was obsessed with labels!!  Anyway, I was shocked to find that I could increase my protein intakes by simply adding a serving of Chobani into my smoothies.  It is much cheaper too!!! Needless to say, non-fat greek yogurt has become a huge "must have" item in our fridge.

Banana Protein Shake...

Here's what I used:
1 cup of cold brewed green tea
1 cup of unsweetened Silk Almond
1 banana
1 tbsp. of ground flax-seeds (optional)
1 container of Chobani banana yogurt (14g. of protein)
8 drops of vanilla stevia
1 cup of raw spinach
a pinch of cinnamon
a cup of ice

Directions:
Throw in a blender and blend until well combined.  Serve and share with a loved one.

This is also "kid approved"!  My son loves Chobani smoothies!!

  2. I also love the combination of banana and whey protein powder in a shake. This combination is actually my favorite. Aside from the fact that it gives me energy, banana also removes the odd aftertaste of whey.
