Hi! I hope you are doing well. I want to apologize for being a little MIA this week on the blog. I have been running around with doctors appointments this week. I have been experiencing a series of pain on the right side of my abdomen along with bloating and indigestion (sorry for the TMI.) I needed to get it checked out and took a few days to rest and consequently, spent some time away from my computer. I have another appointment with a GI doctor this week we'll see how that goes...
I have been keeping up with photos on Instagram (@ahealthyfitrme) and Twitter of my meals and workouts. For those who follow me on there, you know that I have been pretty active with those ;o). I am doing really well with the challenge. Today was the last day of the recovery week from the Insanity series. If you are familiar with the Insanity workouts then you know that the workouts (Core Cardio & Balance) this week are very mild in comparison to the rest of the series. I took it easy with the jumps and sprints but, still managed to complete the week with pain and all.
As for this week's "challenge twist", I have been consuming more complex carbs in the morning. So breakfasts have consisted of either green/fruit smoothies, oatmeal and fruit salads. When I did my 1200kcal post I was shocked by how much protein I was actually consuming. Ideally, I would like to stay at around 45-60 g of protein a day, I was eating double that amount. Due to my stomach aches and bloating; I have been pretty much having soups for dinner and some sort of veggie, complex carbs, and lean protein for lunch.
We have a long weekend ahead, I hope to share a couple of recipes with you soon. I have been enjoying a simple dessert lately that I am sure you guys will appreciate making.
