Fast Food: Plant Protein Smoothie

This smoothie is my interpretation of "fast food".  I have literally had minutes to prepare breakfast this week for me and my son Chris.  Whenever I am running late short on time I always go back the good old smoothie!  This lean and green version is plant based with plenty of protein.
I have to admit that some days it turned out more like a juice and others like a smoothie but no matter the consistency it is always full of nutrients and delicious.
So what's in it?
All of these with a hint of unsweetened coconut milk and carob powder!

Plant Based Protein Smoothie (makes 24 oz):
2 cups of baby spinach
1 large carrot (rough dice)
3/4 cup of blueberries
1 tbsp. of ground flaxseeds
1 tbsp. of spirulina
1 tbsp. of carob powder
2 tbsp. of hemp protein
10 vanilla stevia drops
1/4 t. of cinnamon
1 1/2 cup of brewed Yogi green tea (cold)
1/2 cup of Unsweetened Coconut Almond Breeze
4 ice cubes

Kid's Plant Based Smoothie:
1 banana
1/2 cup of blueberries
1 cup of Unsweetened Coconut Almond Breeze
1 cup of brewed Yogi green tea (cold)
1 tbsp. of chia seeds
1 cup of spinach
1 large carrot
2 tbsp. of hemp protein powder
1 tbsp. of raw honey
4 ice cubes

Directions:
I own an Omni blender and highly recommended.  It is comparable to the Vitamix for a fraction of the price.  It is a dream for blending vegetable, fruits and ice.  I added my ingredients to my Omni and blended at 90% for about 90 seconds.  I transferred my smoothie to my 24oz CamelBak container and took that baby to go.

Keep in mind that you can use any vegetable you have at hand.  The greener the better.  You can use your preferred plant protein powder if you wish (PerfectFit is a great one) or you could omit the protein powder all together and convert this into a juice.  The flax and chia seeds are also optional, I wanted a healthy fat in our smoothie.  I am also extremely hungry after my morning workouts and seeds specifically Chia seeds, help aid with hunger because these expand in your stomach which means that you will feel/be fuller longer.

Thank you for stopping by!
I hope you give this a try.
