Some WIA in Valdez AK + Photos from the trip)

We headed to Valdez Saturday morning for some...
Valdez is about a 4 hour drive from where we live.  We do not mind the drive, especially when you get amazing scenery like this...

Here's some of WWA in Valdez!
Looks like steak but it was Turkey!
Chicken salad for b-fast and lunch the next day.  Recipe will be posted soon...
Our snacks consisted of  nuts, larabars, chips & salsa and raw veggies with homemade hummus.
And of course some roasted (burned) mini cinnamon marshmallows...
Needless to say, hubby took charge of roasting the marshmallows after this incident. LOL

I also made my own version of light lime beer...

I made this with 1/2 of a Coors' Light, the juice of 1/2 of a lime & enough club soda to fill up the 12 oz cup.  Not bad!

Chicken, broccoli and sweet potato dinner...

For our workout, we did a little hiking...
We were surrounded by green mountains,
 mountains with ice,
waterfalls,
and pretty flowers...
Oh! Let's not forget the pets...
This little guy came to visit our neighbor's campsite...
Fun times...
Sunday morning, before heading back to Delta we made a stop at the town's natural Foodstore Rogue's Garden, for some breakfast and snacks for the road...
Hubby got a "Green Smoothie"...I know, it looks purple but, the lady assured us that there was Spirulina in it...LOL Joseph was disappointed by the color but happy with the flavor! lol
I opted out of the smoothie idea and went for an organic black coffee in a compostable cup instead...How great is that!  I love environmentally friendly businesses!
We grabbed a few new flavors (to me) of Larabars...
The Coconut Cream Pie is no joke and hands down my favorite Larabar EVER!

We also picked up a generous bag of dehydrated banana chips and a couple of seaweed snack packs for the road...
So glad we stopped by A Rogue's Garden!  Next time we are staying for lunch!

We had a great time in Valdez!  I can now check out camping from my summer bucket list...

Can you believe it is August already??  I'm off to get my workout done and pack my meals for the day!

Have a wonderful August 1st!!
 TTYL!
