Bodybuilder Protein Pancake & more TRX

Hola!  I woke up today super excited about trying a protein pancake recipe for breakfast a bodybuilder friend, Richard Hauck recommended.  I have tried many protein pancake recipes, but for whatever reason they have never turned out good for me.  Since, I need to increase my protein intakes anyway,  I gave his recipe a try.  I made a few changes to the original recipe, which is the part I appreciate about simple recipes like this one, you can add or take away without ruining the integrity of the original idea.

I had my 20 oz. lemon water and my apple cider/pineapple juice drink.  BTW!  Are you having your lemon water in the morning??????  If you haven't tried this daily detox, you're missing out. Do it for you liver people!

I want to get to the protein pancakes, but first things first.  I had an early wake up call to complete a run routine posted by The Lean Green Bean.  She has amazing recipes and workout routines.  I did my interval run from her blog and my AM Element Yoga workout in order to get my 2nd yoga done for my 1st week of the June Yoga Challenge.  Total workout time: 65 minutes.

OK! Breakfast: Bodybuilder Protein Pancake

The original recipe goes as follows:

2 cups of egg-whites (200 kcals, 40g of protein)

1/2 cup of old fashion oats (150 kcals, 6g of protein)

2 scoops of Whey protein powder (260 kcals, 46g of protein)

Total: 610 kcals & 92g of protein
Here is the source/video: Bodybuilding Protein Pancake

My modifications were:

I used 1 cup of prepackaged egg-whites (100kcals, 20g of protein)

I used PerfectFit organic raw protein powder (70kcals, 15g of protein)
I added my 1/2 cup of left-over oats cooked in water (150kcals, 6g of protein)
I made a syrup with cinnamon, stevia, 5 blackberries, & maple extract (15kcals)
Total: 335kcals, 41 g of protein.

I prepared the mixture last night, to save me time in the morning.  But really, no need, these cook in about 5 mins.

Success! Delish! Perfection!  These were very filling, sweet, & savory, like a pancake!  The mixture made about 10 small pancakes. You will get enough to eat, TRUST!
As you may already know I for the most part live a plant based diet and I have found that I have not been consuming enough protein.  I figured if I consume must of my protein in my breakfast, I don't have to stress over it for the rest of the day.

I am really looking forward to another session of TRX this afternoon.  TRX was recommended in the group Facebook page  by Rebecca Gruitz.  I'm so happy she did!  I had no idea what it was nor what I was getting my self into. I am now a fan!

A few of you have asked what TRX is.  I believe the term the use to describe TRX is Suspension Training.  With Suspension Training you are basically getting a full body workout for the reason that you are building muscle while working your core and flexibility.  The best part is that you can do it all in about 30 mins but, you will feel like you were hit by a truck 2 days later.  LOL!  You can find out more about it here: TRX.

If your gym offers a TRX class I would highly recommend you try it!  It is worth it.

Have a happy Thursday everyone!
